京都・夷川に創業80年 Opened in Kyoto・Ebisugawa 80 years ago
京都・夷川は「家具の通り」といわれ、お家づくりにまつわるお店が集合した通りでした。その場所に、先代が障子、ふすまなどの建具の販売店として「”新しいものと古いもの」”両方を取り扱うお店を始めたのは約75年前です。今は、人々の住居は様変わりしてきましたが、だからこそ、古建具の良さを現代に伝えるべく、今は主に古建具を専門にお店を営んでおります。
Kyoto, Ebisugawa has been called "Street of funiture" since many funiture shops had been gathered.
Our founder opened a shop in Ebisugawa street about 75 years ago, which sells new and old tategu(Japanese style sliding door) such as Shoji,Fusuma and others. Although people's house has been changing, we have been keeping our shop which mainly sell old tategu to tell customers how nice old tategus are.
豊富な在庫 Many various products
月に２回、京都近郊の競り市に仕入れに行っています。また、蔵や昔の日本家屋を取り壊しをしないといけないときにお声をかけていただき、私共が良質な建具をお引き取りさせていただくこともあります。
現在、約３千枚の在庫を抱え、店頭だけでなく、近隣に３か所の倉庫を構えております。
We go to buy products to an auction in suburb of Kyoto twice in a month. We also purchase stocks from Kura or old Japanese house when they are about to be demolished.
Now we have about 3,000 stocks in our shop as well as 3 warehouses around the shop.

京都の昔ながらの良さを次世代に、海外に
Promote good old kyoto to next generation and oversea.
現代の若い方たちは、日本家屋に慣れ親しんでいない世代だと思います。おじいさん、おばあさんのお宅もすでにマンションだったり、西洋式の住居かもしれません。そんな方々にも、建具がおりなす日本家屋の良さを感じてもらうため、近隣の建築専門学校からお声がけいただき、講師をさせていただくこともあります。皆さんに知ってもらうことも我々の使命だと思っております。
Many of young people are not famillier with japanese style house. Even their grand parents might live in western style house like apartment.
We sometime have chance to do workshop to let them know goodness of Japanese style house with tategu collaborating with an architecture shool. We believe that it's one of our mission.
また、近年は、京都の町家ブームもあり、古い施設をリノベーションし、新しく生まれ変わらせる施設やお店も増えてきたことは、大変うれしいことです。それは日本の方だけではなく、海外の方も注目いただくことがあり、わざわざ、ヨーロッパからおいでいただき、建具をお買い上げいただくことも増えてまいりました。
We glad that more and more old buildings and shops have been renovated and reborn thanks to boom of kyoto-machiya. It appeals to not only Japanese but also oversea's people. More and more customer from oversea like europe visit us and buy our tategu.
